I’m absolutely pro heavy lifting for women. It’s one of the most powerful tools we have for strength, longevity, and hormone support—especially through perimenopause and beyond as estrogen naturally declines. The right kind of strength training provides the nervous system with enough stimulus to help blunt those effects.
But here’s the truth: you can’t jump from 0 to 100. Walking into the gym and immediately lifting heavy without a foundation dramatically increases your risk of injury. The magic is in the progression—slow, intentional, strategic.
